An IT professional and his paramour, a married woman, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the latter's four-year-old child and mother-in-law, police said.

An IT professional and his paramour, a married woman, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the latter's four-year-old child and mother-in-law, police said.

Police said Nino Mathew hacked to death his paramour Anu Shanti's daughter and mother-in-law and also made a vain attempt to murder her husband Lijesh on Wednesday.

The injured Lijesh ran out of the house and alerted neighbours, which led to Mathew's arrest, police said.

Anu Shanti, Mathew's colleague at an IT firm in Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, who was arrested on Thursday, was charged with conspiracy and abetment of crime, police said, adding, both have been remanded in judicial custody.
