The KESCo management has constituted 14 teams for carrying out the operation in all the 15 divisions. Assistant General Managers (AGMs) of the respective divisions are heading the drive.

On the first day of the drive, 136 raids were conducted all over the city by the 14 raid teams constituted by the KESCo. During drive, 67 power connections were found defective. While 38 power pilferers were also nabbed by the raid teams and FIR against these people have also lodged by the KESCo. Apart from this, 54 power connections were also snapped.

Revenue assessment of Rs 34 lakh was made during the drive while raid teams also realised Rs 2.88 lakh from defaulters.

Meanwhile, the process of upgradation of Naubasta and Krishna Nagar substations has also started. A 100 MVA transformer at Naubasta grid substation is being upgraded to 160 MVA. While a 20 MVA transformer at Krishna Nagar grid substation is being upgraded to 40 MVA. After the completion of this much-awaited upgradation of both the substations the dismal power scenario of the city mainly in south would improve to a considerable extent. During the peak summer months southern areas of the city are the worst affected as they face rostering up to 16 hours daily.

However, due to the ongoing upgradation work, the rostering schedule of several areas of the city has also been re-scheduled.

General Manager of KESCo MP Tripathi said, “The work for upgradation of transformers at Naubasta and Krisha Nagar substation has started and is expected to be completed within the expected time frame.”

But due to this upgradation, rostering schedules of several feeders have been re-scheduled and after the completion of the work the rostering timings would be changed again, Tripathi said.

The Krishna Nagar feeder would face rostering from 2 pm up to 9 pm. The 33 KV Govind Nagar feeder would face rostering from 7 pm up to 11 pm and from 11 am up to 1 pm. Harrisganj and Hanspuram feeders would face rostering from 3 am up to 7 am and from 3 pm up to 5 pm. The Dehli Sujanpur feeder would face rostering from 7 am up to 11 am and from 5 pm up to 7 pm. The Jajmau, Wazidpur and Anandpuri feeder would face rostering from 11 pm up to 3 am and from 1 pm up to 5 pm.
