A four-year-old girl was allegedly branded with a hot electric iron by a creche owner here for refusing to eat food on time, police said today.

Police, who have booked the couple running the creche in Karvenagar area, said the complainant -- Anuja Sahani --went to the creche to bring the girl home on October 1 and found her in a bad shape with burn injuries on body parts.

According to the complaint, the girl told her mother that she was branded with a hot iron by Balkrishna Dudhal, the creche owner when she refused to eat the food.

The girl was later treated for burn injuries at a private hospital.
