Kidwai elected to Nestle's Board

HSBC's Deputy CEO Naina Lal Kidwai is the first woman to head the operations of a foreign bank in India.

In yet another case of an Indian scaling heights in global corporate structure, Naina Lal Kidwai --the chief executive of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in India, has been elected as a new board member of global FMCG major Nestle.

The Annual General Meeting of Nestle SA, which took place in in Lausanne on Thursday, approved the election of Kidwai as new member of the Board, a company statement said.

Kidwai, who became the first woman to head the operations of a foreign bank in India replacing Niall SK Booker recently, has been appointed alongwith Jean-Ren Fourtou (Paris) and Steven George Hoch (Boston) as new members of Nestle board.

The AGM also re-elected Jean-Pierre Meyers (Paris) and Andr Kudelski (Cheseaux) as members of the Board of Directors for another statutory term while Nobuyuki Idei (Tokyo) did not stand for re-election, the statement said.
