Kingpin of rail passenger duping racket held in Cuttack

A kingpin of a racket, involved in duping train passengers after offering them soft drinks in Berhampore, has been arrested by Government railway Police (GRP) in a major breakthrough in Cuttack.

A kingpin of a racket, involved in duping train passengers after offering them soft drinks in Berhampore, has been arrested by Government railway Police (GRP) in a major breakthrough in Cuttack.

GRP Inspector S Sen said on Tuesday Babuli Mohapatra, the mastermind in some recent incidents between Balasore annd Berhampore section, was picked up yesterday from the railway station premises.



The breakthrough was made following the arrest of two members of the racket ealier last month, the GRP official said.



"We are going to arrest the remaining members of the racket very soon as their identities have already been ascertained", Sen said.



The gang would befriend gullible passengers and offer them soft drinks laced with sedatives. As the passengers got drowsy, they decamped with their belongings.
