One Srikrishna Gupta, a resident of Ranighat, Old Kanpur, has accused PK Tripathi, an official in an anti-encroachment squad and station officer (SO), Kohna Police station, Pradeep Tripathi of conspiring with a land mafia to grab his land.
Talking to newsmen on Thursday, Srikrishna Gupta accused the SO and KMC official of helping the land mafia. Senior Samajwadi Party leader Ashok Dixit was also present on the occasion. Dixit alleged that prominent builders RK Aggarwal, Sanjay Aggarwal and Jasbir Singh Bhatia had purchased a piece of land adjoining Srikrishna Gupta’s land at Ranighat. “Now, the three builders are threatening Gupta to sell his land and also making attempts to grab his land,” he added.
“On January 31, during the anti-encroachment drive, in charge of the drive PK Tripathi along with SO Kohna police station Pradeep Tripathi razed down Gupta’s tea stall situated on his land,” Dixit said.
Tea stall was the only source of income for Gupta and during the demolition drive, SO also took away cash, Dixit alleged.
Dixit further said when Gupta produced a stay order of the court directing the KMC to maintain status-quo on the land, he was arrested and later released in midnight.
