Konkani poet Sardesai passes away

Sahitya Academy Award winner Konkani poet Manoharrai Sardesai died in a city hospital on Thursday night, family sources said. He was 81.
Sardesai, who was popular known as 'Lokakavi', had won the Sahitya Academy award for his poetry collection 'Pisoli'.
He was admitted to city hospital on Thursday and expired at 2249 hrs, doctors attending on him said.
His final rites will be performed on Friday, family sources added.
