Janata Dal (Secular) rebel leader HD Kumaraswamy will on Saturday meet Governor TN Chaturvedi to stake claim to form government in Karnataka.

The JD (S) rebel leader claims to have the support of 140 MLAs in the 224-member assembly.

Earlier, the Governor had given Chief Minister Dharam Singh eight days' time to prove majority in the floor of the House.

The CM on Friday delayed in introducing the motion of confidence in the assembly.

However, Dharam Singh will step down today to avoid a constitutional crisis.
