Landmine blast in Pak injures six children

Islamic militants have been blamed for targeting security forces with land mines and roadside bombs in the past in South Waziristan.

A school bus hit a land mine along a road in a tribal region in northwestern Pakistan on Monday, injuring six children, two of them seriously, officials said.

Islamic militants have been blamed for targeting security forces with land mines and roadside bombs in the past in Shakai, a mountain valley in South Waziristan tribal region where Monday's explosion occurred, an intelligence official in the region said on condition of anonymity because of the secretive nature of his job.
