Lanka not a happy ?turning? ground for Kumble

Statistics show Kumble has not had great success in or against the Emerald Isles.

Chief selector Kiran More hinted to HT on Wednesday that leg-spinner Anil Kumble, one of India’s heroes in the West Indies, was more likely to make the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy and not the immediate tri-series in Sri Lanka (where South Africa are the third team).

In any case, statistics show Kumble has not had great success in or against the Emerald Isles. He has, however, done reasonably well against South Africa.
