Lawyers reminded of their role in society
STATE LAW Officers of Allahabad High Court organised a Diwali and Id Milan programme at the State counsel?s office at High Court here on Monday. Addressing the gathering of counsels, chief guest Advocate-General SMA Kazmi said that these occasions fostered brotherhood among people. He said while Diwali symbolised the victory of good over evil, Roza symbolised self-discipline and victory over desires. Kazmi said in present times, people had lot of expectations from the judiciary.

Addressing the gathering of counsels, chief guest Advocate-General SMA Kazmi said that these occasions fostered brotherhood among people.
He said while Diwali symbolised the victory of good over evil, Roza symbolised self-discipline and victory over desires.
Kazmi said in present times, people had lot of expectations from the judiciary. So the role of lawyers in the society had become of utmost importance, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Government Advocate Vijay Shanker Mishra said this occasion should be utilised to foster brotherhood among different communities.
The programme was conducted by additional chief standing counsel, Quamrul Hasan Siddiqui.
Others who addressed the programme included Member of Bar Council UP Amarendra Nath Singh, Amrit Lal Yadav and secretary of High Court Bar Association Rakesh Pandey.
Prominent among those who attended the programme included Additional Advocate-General, Vidhu Bhushan Singh, Additional Legal Remembrance VP Pathak, chief standing counsel (CSC) CB Yadav, Vijendra Singh, CSC-II Vijendra Singh, Rajiv Verma, Vinod Sharma and others.
