The editorial The devil and Deep Blue (Our Take, August 8) is right in saying that certain brokerages profiteer in the stock markets because they have access to market data. But a supercomputer should not be seen as a threat as the editorial seems to suggest. The victory of Deep Blue over Garry Kasparov was a triumph of human ingenuity in computer programming. The democratisation of market through the seamless integration of a digital nervous system and the monetary system can be the next step in the evolution of markets.
