Life imprisonment to 13 in Kheda murder case

A fast track court today awarded life imprisonment to 13 people for murdering four people in Aral village of Kheda district in 2010. Second additional district judge of the Nadiad fast track court HS Moria also ordered compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the family of the deceased.

Second additional district judge of the Nadiad fast track court HS Moria also ordered compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the family of the deceased while pronouncing his judgement.



Awarding 30 years' imprisonment to accused Shiva Dabhi, Vakhatsinh alias Tino Dabhi, Ganpat Dabhi, Juvansinh Dabhi and Dinesh Dabhi, the court has also ordered them to pay fine of Rs 50,000 each.



Eight other accused, including two women, who were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment were directed by the court to pay Rs 25,000 each as fine.



Eight accused who were sentenced for life are Rataji Dabhi, Jasi alias Amaratben Dabhi, Dhula Dabhi, Ranjit Dabhi, Mahendra Dabhi, Manguben Dabhi, Chandu Dabhi and Mahendra Amarsinh Dabhi.



On July 12, 2010 all these accused attacked Haja Dabhi and others, with whose family they had a ongoing land dispute for the past five decades.



In this incident five people including Haja Dabhi (65), his son Ramsinh Dabhi(25), Shakara Dabhi(65) and his son Raiji Dabhi were killed and five others were injured.
