Lightning kills three in Jharkhand

Two children playing cricket have been killed by lightning when they took shelter under a tree to escape rains in Jharkhand. Lightning also killed a man elsewhere.

Two children playing cricket were killed by lightning when they took shelter under a tree to escape rains in Jharkhand on Sunday, the police said. Lightning also killed a man elsewhere.

The children died in Jharia township of Dhanbad district, some 270 km from Ranchi. Also Sunday, a man died in Manjhi area in Dhanbad.

Lightning had killed nine people in the state Aug 28.
