LML CRD 100 zooms to next level

Buoyed by the success of CRD 100, LML launches two new upper end models & unveils new Corporate identity.

Riding on the success of CRD 100, which was launched in October 2005, LML introduced two new upper end models - CRD 100 SUPER DELUXE and CRD 100 SUPER PLUS. The CRD 100 SUPER DELUXE brings to the Indian market for the first time (in the 100cc segment) a bike fitted with alloy wheels and that also at a very aggressive and exciting price. It has a Double Cushion Suspension (DCS) System, the first in India and probably the world. The brilliant styling of both the bikes was done by Ugolini Designs of Italy.

The bikes use the 100cc CR-Tech® engine whose ignition and combustion technology was provided by Bastra of Germany. The 100cc engine generates 8.2 bhp @ 7750 rpm and a torque of 0.84 kgm @ 5250 rpm and provides best in class pick up. The advanced Microprocessor Controlled Ignition system adjusts and varies the ignition timings as per the speed and ensures excellent fuel efficiency.

CRD 100 grabbed a market share of approx. 7.8% in the addressable market in which LML was present on launch. LML is now aggressively expanding its reach in the Western and Southern parts of the country to increase its penetration, which is presently only 37% of the total motorcycle market in India.

Speaking on the strategy behind these new introductions, Mr Deepak Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, LML Limited said, "Our approach is to keep segmenting the market with technologically superior, yet economically priced products. The CRD 100 range is aimed at straddling the segments from entry level to Deluxe Commuter while keeping in mind the key aspect of affordability and fuel efficiency."

Moving ahead in its efforts at rejuvenating the brand, LML Limited on Wednesday reached another milestone with the unveiling of its new Corporate Identity. The new logo seen at all dealerships/ service points/ products is dynamic, vibrant and reflects LML's determination to forge ahead. Above all, it symbolizes innovation-the fuel that powers LML.

Each aspect of the logo symbolizes a different facet of the company. The colour red signifies passion and commitment while the yellow vignette symbolizes a freshness of approach. The blue in the LML font stands for efficiency, intelligence and progress. The burnished metal-like effect reflects the company's futuristic outlook and strength of purpose. The 7-shaped icon in the logo denotes constant motion and underlines our determination to go beyond boundaries.
