Lokayukta unearths Rs 5 crore assets from MP engineer

The special establishment of police (SEP) of lokayukta raided the residence of an executive engineer here and unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs five crore, allegedly amassed by him.

The special establishment of police (SEP) of lokayukta raided the residence of an executive engineer here and unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs five crore, allegedly amassed by him.

A raid was conducted yesterday at EE Mahendra Singh Yadav's residence in which movable and immovable properties worth Rs five crore disproportionate to his known sources of income were recovered, official reports reaching here said today.

Yadav, who is with the Madhya Pradesh water resources department, is presently posted in Bansagar irrigation project in Rewa district.

During the raids, SEP sleuths recovered documents of three houses owned by Yadav in Bhopal, Gwalior and Noida in Uttar Pradesh, around 22 acres land in Shivpuri and Guna apart from Rs four lakh cash and gold and silver jewellery worth nearly Rs two lakh.

He had purchased the entire property for Rs 1.25 crore, the market price for which at present is above Rs five crore.
