According to the new schedule, back paper and examinations for some of the lesser-known subjects would start from March 1 rest will start from March 18. Controller of examination RBS Verma said that the new schedule is ready and will be made public on Thursday.

LU declared a part of its examination schedule last month. But the student leaders opposed it following which LU officials reviewed the schedule and made some changes in it. However, delay in the declaration of the schedule has earned criticism for LU officials.

On the other hand varsity has given relaxation for the submission of examination forms. Those who have not deposited their examination form may do so till February 28 with late payment of Rs 300. All deans, heads and principals have been directed to deposit the form at examination cell latest by March 3.

Interestingly on Tuesday, many irate students gheraoed the LU V-C and mounted pressure on him to declare the schedule. Following which varsity expedited the work for preparing the schedule. LU officials are optimistic that student leaders will now be satisfied with the schedule.

Needless to mention that in many departments courses are not over and teachers are taking extra classes and hurrying with the course. It was learnt that in many cases teachers have asked the students to come for extra classes so that they could wind up the course before the exams.

Varsity officials have exuded confidence that they would conduct free and fair examinations and would crack down on those who resort to copying. LU administration reiterated that sanctity of the examination would be maintained come what may.
