UP: 400 abducted youngsters re-united with families under Op Milan

Uttar Pradesh police has rescued 400 abducted youngsters and minors, including girls, and re-united them with their families under its ‘Operation Milan’ campaign, launched last month.

“We have so far reunited 400 youths and minors with their families during the campaign in Lucknow region,” IG, Lucknow Zone, A Satish Ganesh said.

The campaign was launched on April 28 in the Lucknow zone to safely recover those youngsters and minors who have been abducted, he said. “We aimed to recover them under the campaign and ensure they meet their families again,” the IG said.

All the district police chiefs of the zone were asked to direct police station in-charges concerned, where such incidents have been reported, to ensure safe recovery in such cases.

A total of 459 cases of abduction were reported in the Lucknow zone including a maximum of 140 cases in the state capital.
