Made for each other

Many couples often wonder will they get an opportunity to be each other's husband and wife in the next birth also or not. "Made for each other" couple often believes that they will have each other's company, which would last for at least seven births.

The Vedic reference to this comes from various scriptures. Gautam Buddha once told an old couple (made for each other category) that "if you both have the same faith, if both receive the teaching in the same way, if you both do charity in the same manner and if you have same regimen, then you will have the same mind in the next birth".
This is one reason why Krishna insists that at the time of death one should always be thinking positive and of GOD or pure consciousness.
Krishna also describes the procedure by which a person can stabilize his mind at the time of death. In Chapter 8.10 he says "one who has a wavery mind, using the power of yoga at the time of his departure, if establishes his prana in the center of the eyebrows, can control his mind at his will."
He further describes the exact procedure in Chapter 8.12 - 8.13 and says, "One should restrain all the gateways of senses, draw the mind within heart and concentrate the pranas at the space between the eyebrows. Establishing oneself in this yogic meditation by repeating monosyllabus "OM", if a person departs he invariably will either get liberation or will have his desires fulfilled in the next birth also.
Krishna also tells Arjuna that the state of mind at the time of departure is dependant on the sum average of the state of mind, the person has lived in his life. Therefore, he emphasizes on the importance of living a good life and says that it may be difficult for a person to have a satwik state of mind at the time of departure, who all his life has lived in a rajsic or tamsic way.
Krishna again in Chapter 17.3 links the nature of a person with beliefs. He says, "Whatsoever he believes in, he actually becomes". Deepak Chopra talks about this in great detail in his books and talks and here lies the importance of one's perceptions. According to him by changing the perceptions one can change the belief and by changing the belief one can change the reality.
