BJP State President Keshari Nath Tripathi immersed the ashes which were brought here by a BJP corporator from Mumbai, Pramod Dubey by a flight. When the ashes were being immersed, thousands of people and the BJP workers who fetched up at the Ghat observed a stoic silence.

Earlier, the Asthi Kalash was received by Keshari Nath Tripathi and other senior leaders and MLAs of the party at the Babatpur Airport. The ashes were sent to the party office at Gulab Bagh by road.

The Asthi Kalash was placed outside the party office where senior party leaders and workers paid floral tributes to the departed soul. A big size portrait of Mahajan was also kept behind the ashes. With tears in their eyes, they remembered the departed leader’s contribution to take the party to new heights.

They said that untimely death of Mahajan was an irreparable loss to the party.

The Asthi Kalash was placed on a four wheeler and the immersion procession left for the Ganga at 4 pm from the BJP office. It reached the Dashwaswamedh Ghat traversing Maldahiya, Lahurabeer, Lohatia, Maidagin, Bulanala, Chowk and Godowlia.
