Mahindra to supply tractor to Iran

Mahindra and Mahindra, the world's fourth largest tractor maker, forges an alliance with state-owned Iran Tractor Manufacturing Co (ITMCo).

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), the world's fourth largest tractor manufacturer, on Wednesday announced its strategic entry into Iran in an alliance with the state-owned Iran Tractor Manufacturing Co (ITMCo).

ITMCo has 80 percent marketshare in Iran.

The Indian firm on Wednesday launched its popular model 6000 DI in Tehran, a company statement said here.

"Iran is a focus market in our strategy to put Mahindra tractors in farms across the world. While boosting our global presence, our partnership in Iran is designed to build on our commitment to performance," said Anjanikumar Choudhari, president of M&M Farm Equipment Sector.
