"After a long time, a government has been formed at the Centre which is abreast of Hindu culture and faith... Hindu leaders should make balanced statements," said VHP international president Raghav Reddy.

He was speaking during a function on Chandigarh-Ludhiana road on the outskirts of Ludhiana.

"Let Modi work... Give him some time... He will make the dream of 'bhartiyata' come true in the days to come," Reddy said asking Hindu leaders to "refrain from making statements that can later create trouble for the Prime Minister."

"Modi is aware about the culture and faith of people in the country," he said.

Earlier, he visited some temples at Chandigarh and urged people to create awareness about the religion.
