Sameer Kulkarni, an accused in the Malegaon blast, was on Tuesday remanded in judicial custody till February 16 by a local court in an arson case registered against him here.
Kularni was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Sanjay Singh who sent him in jail, prosecution said.
The arson case relates to attack on a church here in September last year. Kulkarni is one of the accused.
The Judge ordered police to produce Kulkarni on Wednesday and also on February 12 in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail for appearing in a Special MCOCA Court in the blast case, being probed by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
Earlier, Kulkarni's advocates Deepak Panjwani and Narendra Nikhare alleged police forced their client to give false statements and the same were recorded on mobile phones.
Police also forced him to sign on blank papers, they alleged. Taking cognisance of the allegations, the court issued a notice to the Cantonment Police Station In-charge seeking reply on the issue.
