Connaught Place, unlike its somewhat frayed upper-crust image, has an eatery for every pocket. Like Mama's Rasoi, which has just a couple of plastic chairs and a long table. The unpretentiousness of this place does not stop it from doing roaring business, thanks to low prices – here, you can have a good meal for Rs 20. The menu consists of Rava Roti (Rs 2), Rajma or Dal (Rs 10), a complete thali (Rs 20), dosa (Rs 20) and tea (Rs 4). Diners are unmindful of the lack of hygiene as long as the food does not pinch their pocket.
