Everyone, except some parties, filed nominations on Kumar's behalf, Banerjee said in an apparent reference to Left leaders.

She added that it was a good sign that the same parties have extended their support to the Speaker.

Leaders cutting across party lines backed Kumar's nomination for the post of the Speaker but the Left parties were not among the proposers.

Earlier, CPI(M) leader Basudeb Acharia said his party had not filed nomination proposing Kumar's name for the post of Speaker as the government had 'not approached' his party 'properly'.
