Man in Chandigarh held for forgery in bank

Rana was arrested for withdrawing Rs 34.50 lakhs from the ICICI Bank branch in Sector 9 in Chandigarh, using fake signature of a leading carpet dealer.

A person was arrested on Saturday on the charge of withdrawing an amount of Rs 34.50 lakhs from a bank with fake signature, police said.

Jagwant Rana, a resident of Naya Gaon in Mohali district of Punjab was arrested for withdrawing money using fake signature of a leading carpet dealer, they said.

The director of the firm lodged a complaint with the police that Rana had withdrawn the money from the ICICI Bank branch in Sector 9 in Chandigarh.
