A man has absconded after allegedly killing his seven-month-old daughter by smashing her on a concrete street following an argument with his wife on Friday night.

A man has absconded after allegedly killing his seven-month-old daughter by smashing her on a concrete street following an argument with his wife on Friday night.

Pintu Ansari, 30, a resident of Jorapokhar in Dhanbad, was quarrelling with his wife while on their way back from his in-laws house. "He snatched the baby from my hand and smashed her on the street," Reshma Kalindi told police.

"Immediately I rushed to Patliputra Medical College for treatment but doctors declared her brought dead," said Reshma.

On Saturday, she came to the police station with her child’s body and filed a case against her husband.

Reshma told police her husband ran away after killing their daughter.

"A case of murder has been lodged under relevant sections," said Sachchidanand Sahu, the officer in-charge of Jorapokhar police station.
