A class IV employee of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) Umesh Nath, who posed as STF DSP, sought the help of the police to settle a score with the manager of a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch. On receiving his call and thinking that their boss was in trouble, the police arrived on the scene to bail him out. But soon the cops came to know that he was an impostor and arrested him.
The Fazalgunj police said the Nath, who had confessed to his crime, was sent to jail under section 171 of the IPC. The police said that the youth who lived in Vijay Nagar area had a tiff with the PNB manager, as the cheque he had deposited a week ago, was not credited to his account.
