THE GWALIOR police today rescued the kidnapped PCO owner Virendra Prajapati after an encounter with the Nand Kishor Dheemar gang.
District SP Manmeet Singh Narang and CSP Neeraj Pandey said that acting on a tip-off, two police parties were deployed in the Gajapur forest are under Pichhor police station in the small hours today. When the police parties located the gang, the dacoits opened fire on the police. After a short exchange of fire, the dacoits managed to escape leaving behind the kidnapped Virendra Prajapati.
Prajapati was kidnapped some days ago from his PCO at Jhansi Road crossing near Shivpuri link road. He police were trying to search and rescue him ever since. Today, on getting proper information, the police challenged the gang and rescued Prajapati.
Child killed after abduction:
In another incident, body of nine-year-old Triloki alias Kallu, son of Nathu Singh Gurjar, a resident of Arya Nagar, Morar, was found from Ghatigaon area today. The child was lured into visiting a fair.
According to the police, guard Satish Jatav kidnapped Triloki from Arya Nagar for demanding ransom from his father Nathu Singh who runs a motor-winding shop at Morar. Three accomplices — Pramod, Mukesh and Suresh — joined him on the way. . They took Triloki to Ghatigaon area.
After the foursome reached forest near Ghatigaon area, they decided to kill the child for fear of being caught. They buried the body in a pit and returned to Morar. The police had registered a case of kidnapping on the report of Nathu Singh. But during investigation, the police nabbed Satish Jatav and interrogated him.
After confession by Satish about the murder, the police recovered the body from the spot and registered a case of murder against all the culprits after their arrest.
