Police said the theft occurred Wednesday when the man asked to see the rings before grabbing them and running onto the grounds of Cardiff's University of Wales Hospital.
The man described as heavyset and in his 30s or 40s took a nine carat white gold diamond ring, an 18 carat white gold ring and a 19 carat white gold ring with diamond studs.
