Man shot at for marrying girl without family consent
A man was allegedly shot at by his in-laws who were opposed to his marriage with a 19-year-old-girl in Ghaziabad, the police said on Friday.

According to the police, Wasim, 22, got married to the girl belonging to Habala area of the neighbouring Hapur district at a Ghaziabad court about a month back. But the two families came to know about the marriage only a few days ago. The couple had developed a relationship as the man used to visit Habala to see his grandmother.
Wasim, who runs an AC repair business at Masuri, was shot on Thursday afternoon when he came out of his house at Madarsa Road after receiving a call on his mobile phone, said a police officer. He was rushed to a hospital, where his condition is said to be critical.
The victim’s family has lodged a case of attempt to murder against five men from girl’s family at Masuri police station.
“Both families were having meetings over the matter but the girl’s family was not willing to accept their relationship. A case under section 307, 147, 148, 149 and 506 of IPC was lodged against Tahir, Sajid, Babu, Abdullah and Tariqat,” circle officer (CO) Ran Vijay Singh said.
However, no arrest has been made and the police said that they were investigating all the angles. “We are scanning the details of the person who called the victim before the incident,” the CO said.
