IN A shocking incident, a man stabbed his own brother over a long-standing property dispute. The injured brother sustained grievous stab wounds and is struggling for life at Hamidia Hospital while police have arrested the accused.

According to information, the accused Pradeep Kaushik (53) and Harish Kaushik (50) are real brothers. Both are bachelors and lived together in their house in Shanti Nagar in Barkheda Pathani area under the jurisdiction of Govindpura police.
The house has been the bone of contention between the two for past many years, as both wanted its possession.

On Sunday night at about 11 pm, the brothers again began arguing over the house. Soon matters became worse and their heated exchanges turned into physical assault.

In the heat of the moment, Harish took out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Pradeep in the stomach. Pradeep sustained three-four deep wounds and started bleeding profusely.

On hearing his screams, the neighbours rushed to the spot and took the grievously injured Pradeep to Hamidia Hospital. Meanwhile, some residents of the area informed the police.

Govindpura police have arrested Harish and he has been booked under Section 307 IPC. Meanwhile, Pradeep was reported to be in a serious condition while undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital.
