Man succumbs to burn injuries

A 31-year-old man, who attempted to immolate himself in front of the Golf club where the state cabinet meeting was held on July 22, succumbed to burn injuries in Nashik Civil Hospital, official sources said.

A 31-year-old man, who attempted to immolate himself in front of the Golf club where the state cabinet meeting was held on July 22, on Saturday succumbed to burn injuries in Nashik Civil Hospital, official sources said.

Suresh Shejval was protesting against a private money lender who grabbed his house to recover his loan advances, poured petrol and set himself ablaze when Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal were proceeding for another programme after the cabinet meeting and was rushed in civil hospital.



Police Commissioner of Nashik VD Mishra on July 23 has issued orders to Nashik road police station to probe Shejval's case.



Relatives of Shejval have gathered in hospital premises to protest his death and fulfill further formalities to take over his body.
