Maoist leader cremated in AP

The small town of Peddapalli in Telangana region’s Karimnagar district was literally chock-a-block as thousands turned up at the Chandanapally ground where slain Maoist leader Mallajola Koteswara Rao alias Kishenji was cremated on Sunday.

The small town of Peddapalli in Telangana region’s Karimnagar district was literally chock-a-block as thousands turned up at the Chandanapally ground where slain Maoist leader Mallajola Koteswara Rao alias Kishenji was cremated on Sunday.

Kishenji was killed in a gunfight with security forces at Burisole jungle in West Midnapore district of West Bengal on November 24.

The CPI-Maoist group has called for a two-day ‘Bharat bandh’ on December 4 and 5 to protest the killing, which it said was staged.
