Mayor wants gun for safety

At a time when her party is facing charges of criminalising the politics, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Aparna Doke has disclosed that she is in process of acquiring gun, reports Yogesh Joshi.

At a time when her party is facing charges of criminalising the politics, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Aparna Doke has disclosed that she is in process of acquiring gun. Doke, a known NCP face in the industrial town of Pimpri-Chinchwad has recently procured the arm licence.

According to Doke, the reason to procure gun for the personal safety reasons as she has to move around in the district at odd hours for her family business. Doke, who undergone through rifle shooting training clarified that "there is no threat to her life and procuring arm is for safeguaring herself in any dificult situation". Normally arms licences are given to those who prove that there is threat to their life.
