MCI team to visit BRD college in May

SENIOR SAMAJWADI Party leader and former MLC Devendra Pratap Singh on Thursday claimed that a team of Medical Council of India (MCI) is likely to visit the Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College in between May 9 to 15 this year.
He stressed the need for upgrading the infrastructure and filling up vacant posts of teachers to save the recognition of the degree issued from the college.
Singh said that the department of Anatomy; Physiology, Pharmacology and other departments would be closed, as there was no professor in these departments for the last two years. He also demanded appointment of teachers and professors in the departments to save the only medical college of this region which caters to the medical need of around seven crores population.
Singh further said that recognition of various PG degrees had derecognised by the MCI include Orthopaedic department. He expressed his apprehension that if the PG department will be closed, the graduate classes would be derecognised by the MCI.
