MEDICAL STUDENTS took out a huge rally from the Gandhi Medical College (GMC) to Roshanpura protesting the proposed reservation of seats for students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in all India institutes and central universities.

Students of various colleges in the City took part in almost half-a-kilometer long rally to express their solidarity with the agitating medical students.

Eminent poet Manzar Bhopali came out in support of the students and recited his couplets at the rally. The students raised slogans against Union Minister for Human Resources Development Arjun Singh and criticised the Centre’s reservation policy. The activists of the Sawarna Samaj Party and many other social organisations also walked up to Roshanpura.. The students were carrying placards against reservation with slogans written in Hindi, Urdu and English.
