Neeraj Malik and Nitin Kasana were taken into custody by a police team led by Noida SSP SS Rathore from the India TV studio in Film City.
Before surrendering to the police, the youths claimed innocence before the channel and alleged that the Meerut police have plotted to eliminate them through an encounter.
"We fear for our lives. Meerut police is after us. They want to kill us in an encounter," Malik and Nitin said.
PhD scholar Sanjeev Gujjar was allegedly gunned down by the youths at the Chaudhary Charan Singh University on Tuesday and hours later a police team raided Neeraj's residence where an alleged gun battle with the police took place in which his father and a police constable were killed.
