A three-month-old baby and his mother had a miraculous escape at Malin, even as the entire village is trapped under the debris after a landslide.
Pramila Lembhe, 25, and her son Rudra were rescued by NDRF jawans at around 4pm on Wednesday, almost eight hours after tragedy struck the village. In the morning, when the landslide occured, Lembhe was breastfeeding her son when she heard a bang.
"I heard a big bang. When I looked backward, Our house ceiling was coming down," Lembhe said, while recuperating from the mental trauma at a hospital in Manchar, near Pune.
"We were trapped inside our house. Thankfully, local villagers and the NDRF team heard our voice and rescued us. Since there was some space for breathing, we remained alive."
While all her neighborers died in the incident, Lembhe, along with her son, husband and in-laws survived. "It was indeed a miracle that all of us escaped unhurt."
Later, in an interview to a Marathi news channel, local villagers narrated the incident of the Lembhe family. "We first saw a small window from where we heard shouts. All of us including NDRF men immediately swung into action and brought them out," said Dashrath Rajhale, local villger.Watch:Baby, mother rescued from debris
