Hassan will apprise the OIC about the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir and about the amalgam's stand
on Kashmir issue, a Hurriyat spokesman said.

The spokesman did not assign any reasons for Mirwaiz skipping the meeting. This is for the first time that the moderate Hurriyat Conference will be represented by an executive member instead of the chairman at the annual OIC meeting.

The three-day OIC meeting begins on Tuesday in Kazakh city of Astana.

The OIC had stirred a diplomatic row with India by referring to Jammu and Kashmir as "Indian-occupied Kashmir" in
its invitation to Mirwaiz.
