Mishra transferred; strong resentment among people

Mishra was transferred last night.

Since Mishra had taken charge of Nashik police commissionerate comprising of seven police stations, he had started taking strict action against criminals including some political personalities and served externment notices to 25 of them.

Protesting strict actions, miscreants on the midnight of June 7 burnt several vehicles, killing a 45-year-old police constable Krishnakant Bidve.

Following this, Mishra yesterday imposed Maharashtra control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against 25 accused involved in the murder of the constable, fourteen of them were arrested and remanded to police custody till June 20, police said.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena district chief Sunil Bagul, talking to reporters last night have threatened strong agitation from today to protest Mishra's transfer.
