Trivedi virtually came to blows with women attendants of an old woman undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage.

The MLA had allegedly come to threaten the family members of the patient over a property dispute. The Chowk police reached the place only after the MLA’s fleet left the spot.

Harried husband of the patient on Monday gave an application to SSP Lucknow Ashutosh Pandey seeking his intervention into the matter.

Complainant PK Tiwari, a resident of Yahiaganj in Chowk, stated in the complaint that at around 1 am the MLA’s cavalcade arrived at the Gandhi ward. Trivedi and his aide Pankaj Dwivedi, who were accompanied by police gunners and other armed aides, entered the ward causing panic among the KGMU staff and the attendants.

Tiwari further said the MLA and his associates entered the Neurology department section and tried to enter the cabin where Radha Tiwari (60) was undergoing treatment. However, Trivedi and his aide Pankaj, who hurled expletives, were stopped from entering the cabin by the women members of the family. This was the time when KGMU doctors intervened. The doctors asked the MLA and his associates not to create nuisance in the ward and leave the hospital immediately.

Talking to Hindustan Times, eyewitnesses to the incident said Trivedi and his aides left the place hurling expletives and threatening Radha’s family members with dire consequences.

The family members had informed the Chowk police about the MLA’s arrival as soon as the MLA reached the hospital. But, the cops arrived there only after Trivedi left the place.

Tiwari, in his complaint, stated that Trivedi and his aide Pankaj were torturing his (Tiwari’s) family for the last several years. He said Pankaj’s sister Sudha was married to Tiwari’s son Rupesh. He said Pankaj and Sudha were threatening Tiwari and Radha to leave the house and transfer its ownership in their name.

Trivedi too often threatened Tiwari over the issue.

On Sunday morning too, Sudha and Rupesh called up a constable from Yahiaganj police outpost and started hurling expletives at Radha Tiwari and others. Sudha even pushed Radha and attempted to bash her in presence of the constable.

The old woman could not bear the torture and fell unconscious. She was rushed to the KGMU where the doctors said she had suffered brain hemorrhage. Her condition is stated to be critical.

MLA Mahesh Trivedi was not available for comments.
