MNNITians win laurels at BHU
STUDENTS OF Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) outshone all the teams from prestigious technical institutes of the country and earned laurels for the deemed university by bagging the coveted 'Best Team Prize' at the recently concluded technical fest of IT-BHU?Technex.
STUDENTS OF Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) outshone all the teams from prestigious technical institutes of the country and earned laurels for the deemed university by bagging the coveted 'Best Team Prize' at the recently concluded technical fest of IT-BHU—Technex.

'Technex', hosted every year by IT-BHU, owing to its high level of technical competence, draws participants from leading technical institutes of the country.
This year teams from IIIT-Allahabad, NIT-Trichi, NIT-Durgapur, IIT-Madras, NIT-Rourkela, NIT-Bhopal, NIT-Jaipur and IT-BHU, besides a host of other engineering colleges, participated in the three-day technical fest held between February 10 and 12, 2006 in Varanasi.
The MNNIT team comprising of BTech-II, III students impressed one and all with their technical prowess and fighting spirit.
The MNNIT team from BTech (computer science)-III students comprising of Swetank Shekhar, Suhas Rao and Mahesh Paliath, won the second prize in the all-night programming contest while Nikhil Pandey, Praveen Tiwari and Mohit Goel secured 3rd position.
Rohit Kapoor of BTech-III (CS) and Ankesh Jain of BTech-III (electronics) won the 2nd prize in paper presentation contest outperforming contestants of various other NITs.
In the Robotics Event, MNNIT's boys from BTech-II comprising of Ashutosh Singh (Mechanical), Devesh Kumar (Electrical) and Avijit Gupta (Production) bagged the second prize and won a cash reward of Rs 2000. Swetank Shekhar and Suhas Rao also secured third position in extensive coding contest comprising of four rounds despite not being able to attend one round because of time shortage.Their great performance resulted in the MNNIT team being awarded the 'Best Team Prize' based on the members' all-round performance in all the events in various categories.
Happy with their performance, the team members said, "All this would not have been possible without the constant guidance and the help provided by our teachers. All in all it was a memorable tour to the holy city of Varanasi where we were able to prove yet once again that MNNIT has carved a niche of its own in technical expertise and sound knowledge base which has the power to compete with the very best of the country."
