Moderate polling was reported from different parts of Andhra Pradesh for simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly in the first two hours this morning.

Balloting was stopped at two polling booths in Himayatnagar assembly constituency in the city here and in Mahaboobnagar parliamentary constituency as Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) developed some technical snag, official sources said here.
Brisk polling was reported in Nalgonda and many parts of the city while it was moderate in rest of the places, they said.
Simultaneous elections to 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats in-state are being held amidst tight security.
Over 2.73 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise in the first phase to decide the fate of 132 candidates for the Lok Sabha and 857 contestants for asssembly.
The police have made unprecedented security arrangements for peaceful conduct of elections as majority of districts fall under Telangana region which was affected by naxalite-menace.
