Instead, a few days after the auction, CSK announced the signing of pacers Imitiaz Ahmed, Ankit Rajpoot (both from Uttar Pradesh), Mohit Sharma (Haryana), Ronit More (Karnataka), and a left-arm spinner, R Karthikeyan from Tamil Nadu. While Ahmed (37 wickets in nine matches), Rajpoot (31 wickets in seven) and Sharma (37 wickets in 8 eight matches) made a mark in the recent Ranji Trophy, it is Sharma who has made the most of the opportunity. With nine wickets from seven games, Sharma has revelled for the former champions.
