Khan had identified the affidavit enclosed with the application for issuance of passport to Monica Bedi. Despite presence of Khan, his deposition in the court could not be possible due to absence of prosecution officer, making the judge to issue a show-cause notice to the prosecution.

Dangi also turned down an application presented by Bedi’s lawyer P C Vedi for dropping the name of Fauzia Usmani, the name allegedly used in the relevant documents to obtain passport for her from Bhopal.

The case is now fixed for hearing on Wednesday. Monica, gangster Abu Salem, his wife Sameera Jumani, Siraj alias Abdul Jameel and Abdul Kabeer Baba were booked in the fake passport case in 2001.
