A ONE-DAY workshop on the national rural health mission was organised by the MP Voluntary Health Association (MPVHA) at Hotel Palash Residency here today.

MPVHA executive director Mukesh Kumar Sinha said the rural health mission’s main objective was to bring about effective changes in the country’s health system so that targets set under the common minimum programme were met. The workshop also aimed at delivering knowledge about creating policies that could add to public health management and services in the health sector.
Director public health Dr Yogiraj Sharma was the chief guest and health department joint director Dr Ashok Sharma was also present at the workshop.
About 97 delegates from various NGOs involved in the health sector from all over the state took part in the workshop. The rural health mission has also accorded various roles to the NGOs in the mission. The workshop disseminated information about the role of NGOs in meeting the targets of the rural health mission.
