LDF plans to form a 'human wall' from Mullaperiyar to Kochi that day as part of the ongoing campaign on Mullaperiyar issue to demand construction of a new dam in place of the 116-year-old structure.
Achuthanandan urged people to exercise utmost restraint during protests and warned that certain vested interests are trying to foment trouble between people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
"Nobody should indulge in any form of violence," he said.
Meanwhile LDF convener Vaikom Viswan told reporters in Kottayam that LDF's demand for construction of a new dam was meant to ensure security of the people of Kerala and also provide water to Tamil Nadu.
He said all persons, irrespective of their political affiliations, are welcome to join the agitation.
