'Mumbai attacks death toll now at 188'

The death toll from a wave of coordinated attacks on the western Indian city of Mumbai now stands at 188, police said on Tuesday.

Some 313 people were also injured when militants struck a number of targets in the country's financial capital, including two luxury hotels, late last on Wednesday.

The figure had previously been revised downwards from 195 to 172 because of "double-counting" of the dead at hospitals.
