"We pray for the early recovery of our Prime Minister and wish him a long and healthy life," Mumbai congress spokesman, Krishna Hegde said.

An 11-member team of doctors led by Dr Ramakant Panda from the Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai performed the operation on the 76-year-old leader at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
